MEMEBERSHIPS

A day in the life of…

This time last week we had just finished a three day stint of getting the whole gym moved from Unit 11 to Unit 9. Looking around at the multiple dumbbells, kettlebells, bars and balls, it was hard to imagine how we were going to manage to move everything and have Unit Nine ready for Monday.

This time last week we had just finished a three day stint of getting the whole gym moved from Unit 11 to Unit 9. Looking around at the multiple dumbbells, kettlebells, bars and balls, it was hard to imagine how we were going to manage to move everything and have Unit Nine ready for Monday.

It was a full team effort but with a forklift, pallet loader and several pairs of capable hands, we set about the challenge. Fuelled by cakes and coffee we’d managed to get most of the kit moved and in pace by Saturday night which meant Sunday was left for adjusting, sorting and sprucing. Every barbell plate and piece of CV kit was cleaned by hand. We had some extra helpers come in to help build flat pack furniture – as anyone who has ever followed the instructions on flat pack furniture will confirm – that felt harder than moving the entire rig!

By late afternoon on Sun day we were cleaning, mopping and dusting ready to receive our first participants on Monday. It felt like a real accomplishment putting up the final pieces of the jigsaw – noticeboards, pictures and hooks all the little extras that will make a difference to the way the gym works and feels.

Dave and I have really enjoyed welcoming you in this week. The energy has been amazing and the feedback better than we could have imagined.
